The challenge
How does the oldest surviving park in India stay worth visiting, and worth visiting again?
Nicco Park is an amusement and water park, and the oldest surviving park in India. Age gives a park history, but it can also make a park feel familiar in the wrong way.
The park needed a fresh identity and more visitors, with a theme simple enough that people could understand it at once.
The opportunity was to re-theme the entire park around one easy-to-grasp idea.
The approach
We didn't add attractions. We gave the whole park a reason to be explored.
01 — Choose one idea people grasp instantly
We re-themed the entire park into seven continent-themed zones. Anyone can understand a trip around the world, and every zone gets its own identity.
02 — Build the story that connects the zones
A single story links the continents, so the zones feel like chapters of one park rather than separate areas.
03 — Give every zone a character
Each of the seven zones has its own mascot, and the upcoming snow park has one too, so visitors meet a familiar face wherever they go.
04 — Create merchandise that belongs here
We designed merchandise specific to the park, giving visitors something to take home and a reason to come back.
05 — Support footfall beyond the theme
Marketing and operational improvements were planned to bring more visitors through the gates. We were also involved in redesigning the client's other park, Nicco Jubilee in Jamshedpur.
