The challenge

How do you serve a family on a pilgrimage and a family looking for a day out in the same trip?

People travel for two very different reasons: devotion and fun. Most destinations serve one of them well. Few manage both without one feeling like an afterthought.

The destination centers on a hilltop deity reached by a large cable car, with space for an amusement and adventure park alongside it. The challenge was making these feel like one place rather than two separate visits.

The opportunity was to join spiritual tourism with amusement and adventure in a single destination.

The approach

We didn't place a park next to a temple. We designed one journey that holds both.

01 — Begin from ground zero

We were involved from the start, shaping the destination as one place: the cable car, the hilltop deity, the 18-acre park, the meditation garden, the main roads, the parking and the exit.

02 — Design the spiritual side as an experience

The spiritual aspect was designed with the same care as the rides. A thematic meditation garden gives visitors a calmer space, and sits alongside the amusement side as an equal part of the visit.

03 — Tell a story through the dark ride

The dark ride tells the story of Adi Chinchungiri, giving the amusement side a local, meaningful narrative rather than a generic one.

04 — Plan how visitors move

Guest flow and the master layout connect the cable car, the park, the roads, the parking and the exit, so a single trip feels natural from arrival to departure.

05 — Build it with the right rides and partners

We handled ride selection, procurement and negotiations, and on-site personnel oversaw the build. A wellness center has also been designed, planned for phase two.

The outcome

Projected — forecast, not yet achieved

From a pilgrimage site to a destination for the whole family.

One trip now serves the family that wants a pilgrimage and the family that wants a day out, and each can find what they came for.
